You should only wash the outer cover. The dual-sided cover is fully removable via a zipper and is machine washable on a cold, gentle cycle. Important: Do not wash the inner shredded memory foam filling, as water can damage the foam structure and ruin its supportive properties.

Absolutely. Side sleepers typically need the highest loft (thickness) to fill the gap between their ear and shoulder to keep the spine aligned. Since the Vitessa arrives fully stuffed, most side sleepers find it perfect right out of the box or with only a small amount of filling removed.
